Creative Café Crowborough
ESN in East Sussex are working with Culture Shift on their Creative Café programme
Creative Cafés are an opportunity for students in schools to have meaningful conversations with local employers to find out about the world of work and the opportunities available to them. Creative Cafés provide a more relaxed conversation between student and employers where the students are able to talk more freely with the employers than, say, at a jobs fair.
Recently Jayne from ESN has supported Culture Shift with an event at Beacon Academy in Crowborough, East Sussex.
She used her local employer knowledge to engage employers to attend the event and supported them with pre-event employer briefing, ensuring they were completely prepared. She also supported with the event set up. During the event Jayne presented the opportunities that Apprenticeships provide for students.
There were 11 employers from a variety of sectors from retail with Boots, to law with Cripps and aviation with Gatwick Airport. 200 Beacon Academy students attended this event.
“Attending the Beacon School Careers Event was an absolute pleasure. I truly believe that when you have engaging conversations with young people it can open their eyes to the vast opportunities that await them in their employment future and show the very varied positions available in all sectors that can help boost their knowledge and understanding.”
