ESN and Talent Match – 60 Minute Makeover
The young people involved were:
- Reggie Rumble (CXK Tony Hollingdale)
- Reece Dartnell (CXK Tony Hollingdale)
- Katrina Walker (PT Gail Wood)
Over the last year the ESN has worked with Andy Smith (AMS Training) supporting young people with Manual Handling, First Aid and Fire Safety training leading to painting and decorating work placements and taster days.
Young people were asked to support 60 Minute Makeover surprise for Andy by the production company. The Kent ESN team, Penny and Claire worked with the identified 3-young people to prepare them for the challenge on the day. All 3 were working with trade professionals and crew completing a makeover of his house and were interviewed and we hope that these will be incorporated into the final programme.
“An amazing experience, didn’t know what to expect on the day and ended up doing loads”
“Now I’ve done a bit I want to do more”
“The crew treated us like one of the team, felt great”
Young people were matched to their chosen career destinations. Katrina worked with Anna Ryder-Richardson working on the soft furnishings as she is off to University to study textiles. Reggie, Reece and Katrina spent the day painting and covering most jobs, they worked tirelessly to ensure that the work was completed to a high standard and result looked great.
I felt very overwhelmed by the whole team effort, everyone worked together and we achieved so much on the day. When a young person wanted to work on a particular thing the crew sought out the young person and involved them
What a great day! Great to see the young people on Talent Match having so much fun and working with the professionals. We are so proud of the young people
