Inspiring Talent – Hastings June 2017

ESN organised an Inspiring Talent event in Hastings in June 2017.  This event brings young people and employers together in a less formal environment.  During the event young people can find out more about the local employers and the kind of job roles they offer.

Inspiring Talent provides an opportunity for young people from Hastings and Bexhill to have direct contact and engagement with businesses from a variety of sectors, undertake practical challenges and learn about the skills needed for jobs in the local area.

Businesses come to the event to showcase working for them and the skills they are looking for in their employees.  The Employers that took part in this event were Marshall Tufflex, one of the largest manufacturing employers in Hastings; HOME (Helen Owen Marketing), a marketing company designing marketing campaigns for business all over Sussex; Freedom Leisure, one of the biggest employers in the leisure industry in Sussex and Orbit Housing Association.

Each Employer came with offers of work experience or employer visit and some came with current vacancies they were looking to fill.

The Employers had small groups of young people and spent time with each group doing an activity.  The Marshall Tufflex team built towers out of paper.  HOME did a personality questionnaire.
